The Wonderful Village of Kirkburton

For more than ten years, Picture Smiths has proudly based itself in the lovely Yorkshire village of Kirkburton. In that time it really has become a home from home, we adore our characterful building and all that this quaint West Yorkshire village has to offer.

The village has a historic past, with ‘All Hallows’ being one of the oldest Parish Churches in the area; parts of which stem from 1190AD. As much of Huddersfield, Kirkburton’s historic trade was in the textile industry. Relics of old mills and industrial buildings can still be found in the village, the Picture Smiths building itself a former store and stable for the nearby Springfield Mill at Dean Bottom.

Today the High Street is a blend of independent businesses, some of which we have had the pleasure of branding over our time on the street. Leafy tracks and sunny glades can round every corner and the Picture Smiths team can often be found having a lovely lunchtime walk. You might say the village fuels our creativity!

“If you visit Kirkburton, can you spot the businesses Picture Smiths has branded? Kosmetiko, Travel Experience, Roundhouse Podiatry and Vallenco have all had the PS treatment. We’re doing our bit to make the street even more handsome, and we’ve made some great friends along the way.”
