We created the branding for Vicinity, born from the merger of two industry leaders in Place Management Technology: Solomon and Loyal Free. This exciting technology helps placemakers to manage their data, showcase their value, promote their places and build loyal communities.
An important part of place management is delivered by BIDs (Business Improvement Districts), councils and tourist boards. Vicinity presents key CRM and place promotion tools for these organisations to build deeper connections between businesses, people and place.
Our brandmark is reminiscent of a drop pin on a map, with abstract shapes or ‘contours’ depicting three key elements; business, people and place. Secondary graphics bring light, shade and texture to add artistic personality to this aspect, in shapes that can be used within the designer’s toolkit in many ways, to symbolise the coming together of different parts.
A lively colour palette and carefully chosen fonts give foundation for graphics, infographics and animation in the brand’s future application.
