Ten Years of Growing Together: Picture Smiths x Yorkshire Garden Centres
If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the ten years of working with Yorkshire Garden Centres (YGC), it’s that they don’t do things by halves.
With roots as a single garden centre in Tong, West Yorkshire, the business now spans seven thriving garden centre destinations and has become one of the region’s most beloved lifestyle and retail brands. We’re proud to have grown alongside them as creative partners for over ten years, helping to shape its brands and seasonal campaigns.
The relationship with YGC has flourished, with a shared creative vision and a deep understanding of what makes the business tick. At the heart of it all is nature and seasonality – and none more so that at Christmas. The festive season at YGC sparkles on the calendar for customers and serves as an important part of YGC’s business trading.
In 2025, the festive season is bigger, brighter and even more magical than before.
A Season to Shine
YGC has carved out a reputation of having the must-see Christmas destinations in Yorkshire. Over the years it has grown to become a much loved festive experience across all seven centres, with customer favourites including late-night shopping events, Santa breakfasts, and grotto visits, now joined by a brand new Winter Light Trail, Ice Rink, Winter Food Market, and even a Snow Globe Afternoon Tea.
Crafting the Christmas Magic
That’s where we came in. Working closely with YGC marketing team, we set out to build a seasonal campaign with multiple layers: festive, functional, and full of flair.
Our role was to create the overarching Christmas campaign identity, which meant a visual and verbal style that allows the festive experience its own moment to shine. From magical motion graphics to point-of-sale displays, bespoke event logos to beautifully merchandised print materials, we helped craft a multi-channel identity that works just as hard in-store as it does online.
We’ve woven this festive narrative through every touchpoint. Every element of the campaign has been designed to draw people in, spark joy, and most importantly—give them a reason to visit (again and again).
