Viaduct is a new independent pub and restaurant in the busy village of West Vale in Halifax.

As an addition to an existing portfolio, we were approached by the new owners of The Traveller’s Pub in West Vale to create a brand for their venture.

Described as an independent pub and restaurant with an extensive drinks menu, we immediately got to work to understand the local market. West Vale is unrecognisable from what it was 10 years ago - now a very successful dining and drinking destination, so we knew the venue had serious competition.

Whilst positioned as a pub, they have invested heavily in the kitchen team and offer an encyclopaedic gin menu, which takes this pub up a good notch from traditional establishments.

Our branding had to be memorable and offer something new. The name ‘Viaduct’ comes from the stunning view from the upstairs window of the old railway line that ran across the valley. This led to a brand mark, developed from that distinctive geometric shape and gave lead to secondary graphics, accompanied by a strong colour palette. All together marrying perfectly with the industrial interiors.

The rollout includes all brand suggestions, website, social media and ongoing brand and marketing support.

We are delighted with the brand created by Picture Smiths. Widely renowned for their creativity, in particular in the food and drink sector, we knew they were the right fit for us.

The branding really complements the interior design and looks particularly good from the street at night.

We'd happily recommend them.
